ff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts CHSL examination every year for various posts in different government departments and ministries across the country. Lakhs of aspiring candidates who want to join government jobs apply through this entry. The competition for SSC CHSL posts is getting tougher every year as more and more candidates are giving the written examination that includes four tiers of selection. They should look the syllabus for both the Tier-1 and Tier-2 in detail to start preparation accordingly. Apart from the syllabus, it contains some mandatory guidelines to which you have to stick with. In case, if you fail to comply with these rules/ regulations specifically designed for attending exams like age-criteria, data typing speed with relaxed and non-relaxed norms, offered posts and their respective pay-scale. Then, you may not be allowed to proceed further steps in the recruitment process or in few cases, your candidature can also be cancelled.
Selection of Books
As there is saying, “Books are the best friend for anyone.“ So, always choose the best books to excel in your preparation. It is strongly recommended only to refer the standard books for all subjects separately or combined as per the availability in the market.

Previous year question papers
Previous year question papers are very important to practice before appearing in any phase of the SSC CHSL exam. If you do not practice the previous year question papers, then you may skip the following things-
– How many questions SSC used to frame in the CHSL exam from each topic listed in the syllabus?
– What will the difficulty level of these questions in the upcoming exam? So that, you can allocate much time to that topic of a particular section.
– Unawareness of the most repeated questions because sometimes, SSC used to put the same previous year’s question in the upcoming exam.
– You are unacquainted about your strong and weak areas.
– You can waste your time in preparing the less weighted topics and may leave the more important topics.

Giving wrong answers means the deduction of half marks to the actual marks in the final score. This could lower the possibility to get through the Tier-1 round and can evict you from the other phase of the examination. Therefore, it is advisable to answer only those questions in which you are more confident about and ‘Avoid playing guessing games’.
