Fifth International Yoga Day being celebrated on June 21

Nepal celebrates 5th International Day of Yoga. Government of Nepal planned to organize a yoga program in Kathmandu to celebrate the International Day of Yoga. International Day of Yoga aims to raise awareness worldwide about the benefits of practicing yoga.

Bangladesh is the fastest growing economy in Asia-Pacific as per Asian Development Bank

Asian Development Bank (ADB) in its Asian Development Outlook (ADO) stated that Bangladesh emerged as the fastest growing economy among the 45 countries of the Asia-Pacific region.In 2018-19, Bangladesh registered a growth rate of 7.9%. it is the highest rate since 1974.

Maharashtra State Government has decided to launch the Chief Minister’s Employment Generation Programme for MSMEs

The Maharashtra Government has decided to launch the Chief Minister’s Employment Generation Programme for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises(MSMEs), which will create 10 lakh jobs in the next five years. The flagship programme of the Industries Department will have 30% reservation for women entrepreneurs. This scheme is for promoting entrepeneurship and address umemployment issues.

The first iron ore mine of Bangladesh has been discovered at Isabpur village in Dinajpur

For the first time in Bangladesh, iron ore mine has been discovered at Isabpur village in Dinajpur. According to the Geological Survey of Bangladesh, a 400- foot thick iron layer was found 1750 feet beneath the surface stretched over an area of6-10 square kilometres.

NHA and ICICI Foundation signed a MOU to train 1 5,000 personnel under Ayushman Bharat Scheme

National Health Authority (NHA) and ICICI Foundation for Inclusive Growth signed a Memorandum Understanding (MoU) to train 15,000 state and district personnel. They are trained for Pradhan Mantri Arogya Mitra scheme. They are to provide the delivery of health services under Ayushman Bharat Scheme for a period of one year.  The main aim is to check the capacity building of health personnel.

Rashid Khan becomes most expensive bowler in World Cup history

Afghanistan leg spinner Rashid Khan recorded the worst bowling figures in a ICC World Cup Match after conceding 110 runs in 9 overs against England. Previous record of conceding 105 runs in 12 overs was held by New Zealand’s Martin Snedden.

Indian engineer wins Innovation Award in UK

Nitesh Kumar Jangir, an Indian engineer has won the 2019 Commonwealth Secretary General’s Innovation for Sustainable Development Award in the “People” category in London. Nitesh Kumar Jangir created Saans, a breathing support device to tackle avoidable deaths of premature babies from respiratory distress syndrome.

World Archery appoints Bindra to sort AAI trouble

World Archery appointed Abhinav Bindra as an independent person to sort out the ongoing mess in the Archery Association of India (AAI). AAI violated the constitution by unanimously electing two parallel bodies in Chandigarh and New Delhi.

Bronze for India in the 58th Ostrava Golden Spike Athletics meet

Annu Rani won the women’s javelin bronze in the 58th Ostrava Golden Spike athletics meet, an IAAF World Challenge event. While Croatia’s Sara Kolak took the gold and Slovenia’s Martina Ratej bagged the silver. Annu Rani is a Javelin thrower from Uttar Pradesh.

Maharasthra State government has decided to launch a project “Chullah” for smokeless kitchens

The Maharashtra Government has decided to launch a pilot project providing smoke-free environment in the kitchen for women. The project named “Chullah(wood-fired stove) free and smoke free Maharashtra”, will target the woman who have not benefited under the Ujjawala or any other LPG distribution scheme.
