Indian boxers won 6 medals at 36th Feliks Stamm International Boxing

Indian boxers finished with six medals, including two gold at the 36th Feliks Stamm International Boxing Tournament in Warsaw, Poland. Gaurav Solanki and Manish Kaushik bagged one gold each. Indian boxers also clinched a silver and three bronze.

NIOS, NHMPH Ink MoU In Mumbai

The National Institute of Open Schooling Ministry of Human Resources Development (NIOS) and National Health Mission of Public Health Department (NHMPH) of Government of Maharashtra signed a Memorandum of Understanding in Mumbai. The MOU focused on offering Vocational programmes to the Health Service Providers of National Health Mission (NHM) through National Institute of Open Schooling.

Bandana Sets Guinness World Records On Longest Dancing Marathon

A 18-year-old Nepali girl, Bandana danced continuously for 126 hours to set a Guinness World Records on ‘Longest Dancing Marathon by an Individual’, a feat previously held by an Indian. Bandana beat the record set by Kalamandalam Hemlatha, who danced continuously for 123 hours and 15 minutes in 2011.

MNRE holds ‘Chintan Baithak’ With Stakeholders of Renewable Energy Sector

Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE) held a ‘Chintan Baithak’ with the stakeholders of the Renewable Energy sector. The ‘Baithak’ (meet) was chaired by Secretary, MNRE, Anand Kumar and saw good participation from Renewable Energy (RE) sector including the representatives of major RE developers, equipment manufacturers, financers, regulators, think-tanks, industry bodies and skill developers.

Gujarat Assembly Passes Act to Allow Shops & Businesses Remain Open 24X7

Gujarat Shops and Establishments (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 2019’ passed by Gujarat Assembly which came into force from May 1, 2019. The Act will allow the shops and other businesses in the state to operate 24×7.

India was re-elected as an Observer to Arctic Council

At 11th Arctic Council ministerial meeting held at Rovaniemi in Finland, India was re-elected as an observer to intergovernmental forum Arctic Council.India promised its commitment towards contributing more to Arctic Council.

Indian student Trio won 2nd prize in Microsoft’s Imagine Cup World Championship

The ‘Team Caeli’ from India comprising of three Indian students namely Bharat Sundal, Aakash Bhadana and Vasu Kaushik emerged as First Runner-up (second position) in Microsoft’s Imagine Cup World Championship final held in Seattle,US. The trio won for developing “Caeli”, which is world’s first smart automated anti-pollution and drug delivery mask

India and Bangladesh agreed to jointly produce film on the life of Mujibur Rahman

India and Bangladesh agreed to jointly produce the film based on the life and works of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and documentary of Bangladesh Liberation War 1971.  The delegation from Bangladesh side led by Dr. Gowher Rizvi, Adviser to Prime Minister of Bangladesh met Amit Khare, Secretary of Information and Broadcasting Ministry.

FIFA announces two new award categories to promote womens football globally

Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) introduced two new award categories,off Women’s goalkeeper of the year and a women’s team of the year, to promote women’s football across the globe. These additions means and both men and women will be up for receiving accolades in the same categories at the FIFA Best ceremony 2019 in Milan.
