Devi Ahilya University has become the first university of Madhya Pradesh to be accorded A grade

The Indore-based Devi Ahilya University has become the first university of Madhya Pradesh to be accorded A grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). It may introduce courses recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) without the latter’s permission besides commencing open distance-learning courses.

Uttar Pradesh government has decided to set up state’s first vulture conservation and breeding centre in Maharajganj

In a bid to conserve the endangered vulture population, the Uttar Pradesh government has decided to set up state’s first vulture conservation and breeding centre in farenda area of Maharajganj district. The new centre would be set up in association with Bombay Natural History Society (BNHS), a wildlife research organization.

The National Milk Day (NMD) is celebrated every year on 26th of November

The National Milk Day (NMD) is celebrated every year on 26th of November to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. Verghese Kurien, the father of India’s White Revolution. It is considered to be world’s biggest dairy development programme which transformed India from a milk deficient nation to the one of the largest producers of milk in the world.

Hardeep Singh Puri launched Credit-linked Subsidy Services Awas Portal (CLAP) in New Delhi

The Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs, Hardeep Singh Puri launched Credit-linked Subsidy Services Awas Portal (CLAP) in New Delhi on 27th of November 2019. The portal provides a transparent and robust real-time web-based monitoring system for credit-linked Subsidy Services, CLSS, beneficiaries.

Union HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ launched the kartavya.ugc.ac.in portal

On the occasion of 70th Constitution Day, Union HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ launched the kartavya.ugc.ac.in portal as a part of year long nationwide ‘Nagrik Kartavya Paalan Abhiyan’. The portal will be used primarily for holding monthly essay competitions for students as well as other activities like quizzes, debates, poster making etc pertaining to  Abhiyan.

The Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS) London has conferred the Honorary Fellowship of the Society for the year 2019 to G Satheesh Reddy

The Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS) London has conferred the Honorary Fellowship of the Society for the year 2019 to G Satheesh Reddy, Secretary Department of Defence R&D and Chairman DRDO. Reddy is the first Indian recipient of this prestigious award in over 100 years. It is considered as equivalent to the Nobel Prize in the aerospace domain.

The Child Relief and You (CRY) has recently its report titled “How vulnerable are children in India to crime?”

The Child Relief and You (CRY) has recently its report titled “How vulnerable are children in India to crime?”, which is based on the latest National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) for 2016-2017 data released on 21st October 2019 after a gap of two years. The report reveals that crimes against children rose by 20% higher than overall number of crimes which rose by 3.6%. As per CRY report, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh have topped the list of States for overall crimes against children. Both stood at 14.8% with over 19,000 cases. The highest increase in crimes against children was seen in Jharkhand at 73.9% while Manipur had a significant decline of 18.7% between 2016 and 2017.

Balasingh, the noted Tamil actor and theatre artist, has passed away in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. His notable performances include Kamal Haasan’s directorial venture ‘Virumandi’ and actor Dhanush’s ‘Puthupetta’, a gangster flick.

Madhu Shetye, the senior journalist and activist, has passed away in Mumbai on 27th November 2019. He was a founding member of the Mumbai Press Club (MPC). He was a former corporator in the Mumbai municipal corporation and had participated in the Samyukta Maharashtra and Goa liberation movements.

The Madhya Pradesh government has decided to launch the project titled ‘Shakti’

The Madhya Pradesh government has decided to launch the project titled ‘Shakti’ to alert the public through Short Message Service (SMS) system about crimes like abduction. The system will help prevent such crimes and solve them too.
