1.Vanity

  • Meaning:  the trait of being unduly conceited / having a ridiculous amount of pride
  • Synonym: narcissism, self-love
  • Antonym: modesty.
  • Usage: She let her vanity aside and apologized.

2.Vent (verb)

  • Meaning: give free expression (a strong emotion)
  • Synonym: release, let-out
  • Antonym: closure, suppress
  • Usage: He vent out his anger on the innocent people.

3.Vexation (noun)

  • Meaning:  anger produced by some annoying irritation
  • Synonym: annoyance, irritation
  • Antonym: relaxation, mildness
  • Usage: The irritation and vexation is probably caused due to the argument in the office.

4.Vigilant (adjective)

  • Meaning:  carefully observant or attentive
  • Synonym: watchful, observant
  • Antonym: negligent, inattentive
  • Usage: The instructor asked the employee to be vigilant about the regulations and policies.

5.Meticulous (adjective)

  • Meaning: showing great attention to detail; very careful and precise.
  • Synonym: conscientious, diligent
  • Antonym: careless, sloppy
  • Usage: She is meticulous about her work.

6.Vindictive (adjective)

  • Meaning: showing malicious ill will and a desire to hurt
  • Synonym: vengeful, revengeful
  • Antonym: forgiving
  • Usage: There aren’t any vindictive contestants stabbing nicer ones in the back.

7.Vulnerable (adjective)

  • Meaning:  capable of being wounded or hurt
  • Synonym: endangered, unsafe
  • Antonym: resilient, invulnerable
  • Usage: The aged people are more vulnerable to this new disease.

8.Whimsical (adjective)

  • Meaning: determined by chance or impulse rather than by necessity
  • Synonym: fanciful, mischievous
  • Antonym: mature, sombre
  • Usage: The whimsical nature of the child has made him commit such follies.

9.Wrath (noun)

  • Meaning:  intense anger
  • Synonym: anger, rage
  • Antonym: happiness, humour
  • Usage: The storm was believed to be the wrath of the Nature.

10.Zenith (noun)

  • Meaning: the highest point of something
  • Synonym: height, high-point.
  • Antonym: nadir, bottom
  • Usage: The debate has reached its zenith and it will turn to an argument soon.
