  1. PURLOIN (Verb)
    Meaning: to take another’s belongings without permission.
    Synonyms: loot, pilfer, steal, embezzle.
    Antonyms: bestow, contribute, donate, purchase.
    Example: Jenny was shocked when her best friend tried to purloin her favorite necklace.
  2. INCONCEIVABLE (Adjective)
    Meaning: not capable of being imagined or grasped mentally; unbelievable.
    Synonyms: implausible, improbable, incredible.
    Antonyms: plausible, reasonable, conceivable.
    Example: It’s almost inconceivable that a handicapped girl is very independent and lives all alone.
  3. DISENFRANCHISE (Verb)
    Meaning: deprive of the right to vote.
    Synonym: opress, shackle, coerce
    Antonym: liberate, release, permit
    Usage: He is no longer disenfranchised; he has position and voice.
  4. PREPONDERANCE (NOUN)
    Meaning: the quality or fact of being greater in number, quantity, or importance.
    Synonym: prevalence, predominance, dominance
    Antonym: couple, few, handful, smattering, sprinkling
    Sentence: The restaurant ran out of food because it was not prepared for such a preponderance of customers on opening day.
  5. VANTAGE (Noun)
    Meaning: a position giving a strategic advantage, commanding perspective, or comprehensive view.
    Synonyms: advantage, edge, high ground, upper hand.
    Antonyms: disadvantage, drawback, liability, penalty.
    Usage: The whole dispute looked silly from my vantage point.
  6. STINT (Noun)
    Meaning: a limited period of work or a limited time in a specific job or profession.

  9. PEEVISH (Adjective)
    Meaning: always whining or complaining.
    Synonyms: irritable, fractious, fretful, cross, petulant
    Antonyms: affable, easy-going
    Example: The baby is peevish because his gums are hurting.
  10. PERNICIOUS (Adjective)
    Meaning: exceedingly harmful; highly injurious or destructive.
    Synonym: harmful, destructive
    Antonym: beneficial, favourable
    Usage: Because she hates me, my neighbor is always spreading pernicious lies about me.
  11. IDIOMS
    An acquired taste
    Meaning: Something that one doesn’t like in the beginning but gradually starts to develop an interest or liking.
    Sentence: Initially I only enjoyed Tea but now I have an acquired taste for coffee.

    Meaning: Someone who is enthusiastic, skillful and hardworking.
    Sentence: Though Tim is not friendly with his colleagues, he’s no slouch when it comes to attracting clients and generating sales.

    Throw (some) shapes
    Meaning: To enjoy dancing to some famous tracks.
    Sentence: As soon as the music started playing the children started throwing some shapes on the floor.
