  1. OBDURATE (Adjective)
    Meaning: stubbornly persistent in wrongdoing
    Synonyms: callous, stubborn
    Antonyms: humane, sensitive
    Usage: The protestors were obdurate and did not move even when the police arrived.
  2. PREDILECTION (Noun)
    Meaning: a preference or special liking for something;  a bias in favor of something
    Synonyms: fondness, inclination, propensity.
    Antonyms: disinclination, detachment, apathy.
    Usage: Rohan goes out to watch birds daily so I assume he has a predilection for the hobby.
  3. OBFUSCATION (Noun)
    Meaning: the action of making something less clear and less easy to understand, especially intentionally
    Synonyms: bafflement, confusion
    Antonyms: clarity
    Usage: The identification of suspects by name provides a huge area for obfuscation.
  4. SOPHISTRY (Noun)
    Meaning: a reason or argument that sounds correct but is actually false.
    Synonyms: casuistry, fallacy
    Antonyms: honesty, truth
    Usage: While the claim in the weight-loss ad sounds real, it is actually sophistry from a marketing department that hopes to sell a product at any cost.

    Meaning: surround; enclose.

    Usage: Trees environ the garden.
  6. UNSCATHED (Adjective)
    Meaning: without suffering any injury, damage, or harm; untouched.

    Meaning: the state of being under the control of  another person
    Synonyms: servitude, slavery
    Antonyms: mastery, dominance
    Example: Last night you were in thrall to your emotions.
  10. ENFEEBLEMENT (Noun)
    Meaning: a gradual sinking and wasting away of mind or body
    Synonym: decaying, decline, degeneration, descent,
    Antonym: comeback, improvement, recovery,
    Usage: He was now over fifty and his sight showed serious symptoms of enfeeblement.
  11. IDIOMS
    Oldest trick in the book
    Meaning: Used to say that some trick is a well-known and popular one.
    Sentence: Oldest trick in the book to treat cold and cough is drinking turmeric milk.

    A solid grasp of something
    Meaning: A clear, sound or better understanding of a certain thing.
    Sentence: Samantha has a solid grasp on English Idioms. Ask her any idiom and she will explain it with a proper example.

    Ball is in your court
    Meaning: Used in a situation to say that the decision is on your side.
    Sentence: I’ve already told you about the merit and demerits, now the ball is in your court.
