  1. RELENT (Verb)
    Meaning: to cease resistance (as to another’s arguments, demands, or control); to give in.
    Synonyms: concede, give in, submit, succumb.
    Antonyms: combat, confront, counter, defy.
    Example: Because my father is very angry, he won’t relent on my harsh punishment.
  2. INURE (Verb)
    Meaning: accustom (someone) to something, especially something unpleasant.
    Synonyms: accustom, habituate, acclimatize, adapt.
    Antonyms: enfeeble, debilitate, incapacitate.
    Usage: Even the veteran detective could not inure himself to the sight of a murdered child.
  3. RATIFIED (Verb)
    Meaning: confirmed or made official.
