  1. MUZZLE (Verb)
    Meaning: prevent (a person or group) from expressing their opinions freely.
    Synonyms: gag, silence, censor, suppress, stifle
    Antonyms: permit, release
    Usage: Attempts to muzzle the country’s media have failed.
  2. DRACONIAN (Adjective)
    Meaning: excessively harsh and severe.
    Synonyms: cruel, brutal, oppressive, ruthless.
    Antonyms: mild, amenable, temperate, gentle.
    Usage: To many, capital punishment is a draconian practice.
  3. VEST (Verb)
    Meaning: confer or bestow power on someone.
    Synonyms: entrust, invest, bestow, confer.
    Antonyms: impede, inhibit, disqualify, disbar.
    Usage: Many people think that the power of the United States is entirely vested in the President, but a system of checks and balances placed power between three branches of government.
  4. HOBBLE (Verb)
    Meaning: walk in an awkward way, typically because of pain from an injury.

    Antonyms: breeze, glide, sail, stride.

  6. LAUREATE (Noun)

  7. STIPULATE (Verb)

    Antonyms: gathering, collection

    “Simmer Down”
    FOOD IDIOM
    Meaning: Become less angry; regain one’s composure
    Example:

    “Slower than molasses”
    FOOD IDIOM
    Meaning: Exceptionally slow or sluggish; not fast at all.
    Example: This old laptop my dad gave me is a piece of junk. It’s slower than molasses!

    “Small Potatoes”
    FOOD IDIOM
    Meaning: Unimportant, insignificant
    Example:
    We’re wasting our time on small potatoes. Let’s get to the big news that made us have this meeting.
