1. ostensible (adjective) – प्रत्यक्ष, ख़याली
Pronunciation:
 os-ten-si-b(u)l
Meaning: stated or appearing to be true, but not necessarily so
Synonyms: apparent, seeming, outward
Antonyms: real, genuine
Usage: The ostensible reason for his resignation was ill health.

2. theatrical (adjective, noun) – मंचीय, नाट्य संबंधी, नाटकीय
Pronunciation:
 thi-atri-k(u)l
Meaning: relating to acting, actors, or the theatre; exaggerated and excessively dramatic; a professional actor or actress
Synonyms: stage, dramatic, thespian; exaggerated, ostentatious, stagy, showy, melodramatic, overacted, overdone
Antonyms: natural, unaffected
Usage:

  • She always makes some theatrical gesture. (adjective)
  • This movie does not contain any theatricals, but still it proved to be a blockbuster. (noun)

3. riposte (noun, verb) – जवाबी प्रहार
Pronunciation
: ri-post
Meaning: a quick, clever reply to an insult or criticism; a quick return thrust in fencing
Synonyms: retort, counter, rejoinder, sally, return, retaliation
Usage:

  • She made a witty riposte. (noun)

4. adore (verb) – बहुत प्रेम करना

Meaning: love and respect (someone) deeply, like very much

Usage:

5. rope (verb) – रस्सी से बांधना

Meaning: catch, fasten, or secure with rope; enclose or separate an area with a rope or tape; (of a party of climbers) connect each other together with a rope; climb down or up using a rope; persuade someone, despite reluctance, to take part in (an activity)

Usage:

    Meaning: clearly seen or understood
    Synonyms: obvious, apparent, noticeable, conspicuous, perceptible
    Antonym: unnoticeable
    Usage: She ate the biscuits with evident enjoyment.

    7. belie (verb) – झुठलाना, पूरा न उतरना
    Pronunciation
    : bi-lai
    Meaning: (of an appearance) fail to give a true impression of (something); fail to fulfil or justify (a claim or expectation)
    Synonyms: contradict, disprove, debunk, discredit
    Antonym: reveal
    Usage:

    • Her smile belied her true feelings.
    • The quality of the music seems to belie the criticism.

    8. waive (verb) – छोड़ देना, हटाना
    Pronunciation:
     weiv
    Meaning: refrain from insisting on or using (a right or claim); refrain from demanding compliance with (a rule or fee)
    Synonyms: relinquish, renounce, abandon, reject, surrender; disregard, ignore, overlook
    Antonyms: claim, pursue; uphold, follow
    Usage:

    • He will waive all rights to the money.

    9. outset (noun) – शुरू, आरंभ, प्रारंभ

    Meaning: the start or beginning of something

    10. florid (adjective) – लाल, भड़कीला
    Pronunciation: flo-rid
    Meaning: having a red complexion; excessively intricate or elaborate
    Synonyms: ruddy, red, red-faced, reddish, rosy, rosy-cheeked; ornate, fancy, over-elaborate, embellished, extravagant, flamboyant
    Antonyms: pale, plain
