Dear Aspirants,
Hope all of you are studying thoroughly in order to fare well in the WBCS Mains. However, in this post Avision would focus on Polity because Polity forms a vital part of WBCS exam and some students face problems in it.Polity is an important topic both in the Preliminary & Mains in WBCS. In Prelims, 12–13 questions from Indian Polity come, and in Mains, in Paper-V, (Indian Polity & Indian Economy), out of 200 questions, 110–115 questions come from Indian Polity. The syllabus is actually Indian Polity & Governance. One needs to have basic concept of Indian Constitution & its various aspects, Local Government, Govt. Policies etc.
For Prelims, there are only some basic questions which come and its easy to score full marks in these topics if one reads Laxmikanth and solves all previous year questions.
For Mains, indepth study is very much required. One should read Laxmikanth very thoroughly and understand all the approaches. The important chapters for mains are Parliament, Centre- State Relations, Emergency Provision, Panchayati Raj System and Municipality, Important Amendments, recent important polity related current affairs etc.
Only thorough revision, frequent mock tests and discussion classes on the topic will help the candidate in scoring high in the examination.
All the very Best !
